Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö’s new reject crushing line

Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö’s combined heat and power plant located on Kungsgatan in central Eskilstuna has invested in a so-called reject crusher line from FB Kedjor. A successful local collaboration where Eem uses all its fuel instead of, as before, pay to transport away excess fuel that cannot be burned in the boiler.

“We are very proud and grateful for the trust we have placed in developing and delivering this equipment to Eem. Their way of thinking about making the most of what they can, reducing transportation and thus contributing to a more sustainable society through reduced CO2 emissions, while overall achieving better profitability, is really fun to be able to contribute to”, Patrick Schönfeldt at FB Kedjor says.

Torbjörn Bånkestad, Maintenance planner at Eem explains;

“We get pieces in the fuel that are too large to burn directly. The material needs to be crushed into smaller fractions so that we can use it. Thanks to this fine facility that FB Kedjor together with BT Konstruktion has designed, manufactured and installed with us, we can crush the forest fuel and transport it straight down into our tipping pocket via chain conveyors. The equipment we are talking about is a feed table that is loaded with a wheel loader, then a scraper conveyor up to the crusher, an FBWRS 10-11V that is top-fed and breaks the material into the desired fraction before it falls into a feed screw that takes the fuel further into the tipping pocket.”
